QUETTA: A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Qalat district and surrounding areas in Balochistan, according to ARY News on Sunday.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre confirmed that the earthquake, with a depth of 33 kilometers, occurred 27 kilometers south of Qalat.
Panic ensued as residents rushed out of their homes and began reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Previously, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake had hit Sibi and surrounding areas, with tremors felt across the region. The epicenter was located 22 kilometers southeast of Sibi, and the quake had a depth of 18 kilometers.
In July 2024, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Khuzdar district, with its epicenter near Turbat at a depth of 12 kilometers. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported in any of these recent earthquakes.
Similarly, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in July.
