Aleema Khan dismisses the idea of a ‘minus founder’ approach.

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, rejected the “minus Imran Khan” idea, calling it unfounded and stating that it will not come to fruition.

In an interview with Voice of America (VOA), Aleema emphasized, “There is only one leader, and that is Imran Khan.”

She dismissed rumors suggesting that either she or Bushra Bibi were leading the party, labeling these claims as mere propaganda. Aleema clarified that she has had no communication with any PTI leaders and noted that when party leaders were detained, only legal counsel Salman Akram Raja had suggested passing a message to Imran Khan.

On the topic of Bushra Bibi, Aleema explained that Imran Khan had not given her any instructions regarding the protests, as Bushra had been unwell and absent from court appearances for two weeks.

Aleema also denied the claims made by Mashal Yousafzai about the D-Chowk protest, labeling them as false. On November 29, 2024, Mashal had stated that Bushra Bibi decided to head to D-Chowk despite Imran Khan’s instructions for the PTI convoy to stop at Sangjani. Yousafzai had also mentioned that Bushra insisted that Imran Khan had ordered the protest to continue to D-Chowk.

Mashal Yousafzai, who was serving as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was later removed from her position due to this interview.

In a separate interview on November 3, 2024, Aleema Khan shared that her brother, Imran Khan, had revealed he still had “one final card” left but chose not to disclose further details. Addressing rumors about Imran Khan’s health, Aleema dismissed them as untrue, saying that her brother laughed upon hearing the false reports and reassured everyone of his good health, which he maintains through regular exercise.

Aleema also praised Bushra Bibi’s leadership during the November 24 protests, stating that Bushra led the protests and that other leaders should have joined her on the container.
