KARACHI: In an unusual turn of events, a policeman from the special branch was robbed by armed assailants. The robbers made off with the officer’s government-issued motorcycle and mobile phone.
The shocking robbery took place on Wednesday near the Malir 15 flyover in Karachi.
Details reveal that two armed robbers, riding an unregistered motorcycle, held the policeman hostage before stealing his bike, mobile phone, and other valuables.
This incident is not isolated, as several police officers have been targeted in September 2024 along the M-9 Motorway and in Malir, where their weapons, phones, and other possessions were also taken.
The police have initiated an investigation and filed a First Information Report against the unidentified suspects.
This alarming trend highlights the deteriorating law and order situation in the city, with even law enforcement officers falling victim to such crimes.
