In a major development, the police forces of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur successfully eliminated Shahid Lund Baloch, the notorious leader of the Lund Gang, during a joint operation on Friday.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Police confirmed that the operation was carried out in the Kacha area of Bangla Achha, where Baloch was killed in a firefight. The Punjab government had previously placed a reward of Rs 10 million on his head, emphasizing his criminal prominence.
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the police teams for their success, calling the operation a key step in combating criminal and terrorist activities in the region. He emphasized, “Our top priority is to eliminate terrorists, dacoits, and criminals from the Kacha areas.”
Baloch had been wanted by authorities for over 28 serious crimes, including the murder of police officers, terrorism, ransom kidnapping, attacks on law enforcement, and armed robbery. Multiple cases against him had been filed in police stations across Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur.
The operation, which had been underway for two months, was the result of meticulous planning and strategic coordination between the two police teams.
