Bushra Bibi petitions LHC over ‘undisclosed’ cases

LAHORE: Bushra Bibi, the imprisoned wife of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan, has filed a petition with the Lahore High Court, requesting details of all undisclosed cases registered against her.

In the petition, Bushra Bibi challenges the authorities’ refusal to provide information on these cases, asserting that she is being targeted for political reasons.

Her counsel argues that she is being unlawfully detained despite not being required in any criminal case, as she has been acquitted, granted bail, and had previous sentences suspended in all other cases against her.

The petition claims that Bushra Bibi has fallen victim to state harassment intended to pressure her husband. It further states that any arrest in undisclosed cases without her knowledge would constitute a miscarriage of justice.

The petition seeks a court order compelling the respondents to provide a complete list of disclosed and undisclosed cases against her and to prevent her arrest in any such cases.

The Punjab police, FIA, and the interior ministry are named as respondents. Justice Farooq Haider is set to hear the petition on Monday.
