Bushra Bibi secures interim bail in 13 D-Chowk protest cases until February 7

The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted interim bail to Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in 13 cases related to the D-Chowk protest on November 26. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra approved the bail against surety bonds of Rs. 5,000 each and instructed the police to submit all relevant records by February 7.

In addition, Bushra Bibi was granted interim bail in the Rangers’ accident case until the same date. During the hearing, Judge Supra expressed dissatisfaction with the defense counsel’s conduct on two occasions. He criticized the lawyers, stating, “You demand VIP protocol everywhere, but this is not possible. Ensure your files are prepared properly before appearing in court.”

Bushra Bibi is facing multiple charges across various police stations, including three cases at the Secretariat Police Station, two each at Margalla, Karachi Company, and Ramna Police Stations, and one case each at Tarnol, Kohsar, Aabpara, and Khanna Police Stations.

The judge also reprimanded the defense team for having Bushra Bibi sign and thumbprint blank papers, stating, “The accused must sign and thumbprint court orders, not blank sheets.”

Bushra Bibi also visited the Islamabad High Court for biometric verification in connection with her acquittal request in the Toshakhana-II case. The acquittal applications for both Bushra Bibi and PTI Chairman Imran Khan were filed on Monday. After completing the biometric process, Bushra Bibi left the court premises.
