Imran Khan issues seven-day ultimatum for forming judicial commission

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has instructed the party’s negotiation team to halt further talks with the government if a judicial commission is not established within seven days, Barrister Gohar revealed.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Gohar stressed the importance of forming the judicial commission for meaningful dialogue.

“There is no purpose in continuing negotiations if the government fails to act on establishing the commission,” he stated.

Gohar criticized Irfan Siddiqui, the spokesperson for the government’s negotiation team, for hindering progress. “Siddiqui must avoid turning minor matters into major disputes that derail talks,” he said, adding that recent discussions about law and order should remain non-political.

PTI is adamant about the judicial commission’s formation to ensure transparency and accountability. “Imran Khan has made it clear that the fourth meeting will only take place if the commission is formed within the deadline,” Gohar affirmed, emphasizing the party’s commitment to dialogue while holding the government accountable.

He accused the government of discomfort over the demand for transparency, referring to it as the “Form 47 government.”

Gohar called on the ruling coalition to prioritize constructive dialogue for the nation’s benefit. “Successful negotiations mean success for Pakistan,” he remarked, urging patience and mutual understanding in the process.

He also dismissed rumors regarding official invitations from former U.S. President Donald Trump for his inauguration, clarifying that such matters are handled by campaign committees rather than government channels.
