A police Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) came under attack near the Balishkhel check post in Lower Kurram, according to police reports.
Officials stated that the attackers opened fire after the APC failed to stop for inspection. In response, the police fired back, and fortunately, no casualties were reported during the exchange.
At the time of the attack, SHO Fazal Kareem and other police personnel were inside the vehicle.
Local tribes claimed they believed the APC was being used to transport supplies for a rival tribe, which led to the shooting.
An investigation has been launched by the police to uncover the motives and circumstances surrounding the attack.
