LAHORE – On Wednesday, police announced the arrest of the main suspect involved in the gang-rape of a university student, allegedly carried out by him and two accomplices.
According to authorities, efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining suspects, Talha and Hamza. The victim has undergone a medical examination, and the report is expected to provide further details.
Police stated that Haseeb Afzal, the prime suspect, along with Talha Khan and Hamza, assaulted the student, who had initially connected with Haseeb via social media.
The Civil Lines SP revealed that the suspects filmed the assault. He confirmed that raids are being conducted to apprehend the other two suspects.
The police confirmed that a case has been registered under gang-rape charges following the victim’s statement. The victim, an MPhil student at a private university in Lahore, lodged the complaint at the Women’s Police Station.
