Meeting of Government-Opposition Negotiation Committee Scheduled for January 28

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has called for a meeting of the negotiation committee to facilitate talks between the government and opposition on January 28.

The in-camera meeting will be chaired by the NA speaker, and the government is expected to respond to the opposition’s demands in writing.

PTI leader Barrister Gohar, however, has warned that the meeting will not proceed unless the government addresses PTI’s demands.

Previously, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 incidents.

“We will not attend the fourth meeting with the government’s negotiating team unless the judicial commission is established within the next seven days,” stated Gohar.

He reiterated that PTI remains firm on its original demands, expressing a genuine desire to continue negotiations with the government.

Additionally, Gohar urged PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui to refrain from disrupting the ongoing political dialogue between the government and opposition.
