Nominees for SOEs’ Boards Must Get ISI, IB Clearance – Strict New Rule Enforced!

Government Makes ISI, IB Clearance Mandatory for SOE Board Nominees

The federal government has mandated that nominees for the Board of Directors (BoDs) of State-Owned Entities (SOEs) must undergo clearance from both the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The Cabinet Division informed various ministries and divisions about this directive, which was part of a Federal Cabinet decision made on July 10, 2024. The Cabinet instructed all ministries and divisions to fill vacancies on the boards of SOEs, statutory bodies, and other similar organizations to ensure the boards are fully functional.
