Notorious criminal murdered by his accomplices in Lahore, say police

LAHORE: Lahore police have reported that Muhammad Riaz, a suspect with a criminal record involving murder and attempted murder, was killed by his own accomplices in a shooting incident in the Kot Lakhpat area. According to the police, Riaz was in custody and being transported for the arrest of his accomplices and the recovery of weapons when his associates opened fire on the police party in an attempt to free him.

The police confirmed that Riaz was fatally shot during the attack, with the assailants managing to flee the scene. Riaz, known for his involvement in multiple serious crimes, was a notorious figure in the area.

A search operation has been launched by the police to capture the fleeing accomplices. The incident echoes a similar case earlier this year, when Ahsan Shah, the prime suspect in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder, was killed by his own associates while being transported by the CIA for evidence recovery in August. Shah was shot by his brother and unidentified accomplices while being moved to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Arif Ameer, was murdered in a targeted attack on February 19 near Lahore’s Thokar Niaz Beg area.
