National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, along with former provincial minister Raja Basharat and Ahmed Chattha, has been handed over to the Attock police.
As per reports, the Rawalpindi police arrested Ayub, Basharat, and Chattha outside Adiala Jail following charges filed against them and others, including the PTI founder, in connection with the GHQ attack case.
Later that night, the accused were transferred to Attock police, who moved them to the Police Lines Headquarters.
The charges against them include terrorism cases registered at police stations in Injra, Hassan Abdal, and Hazro.
Sources revealed that Attock’s District Police Officer (DPO) had requested custody of the accused from the Rawalpindi police.
In a separate development, PTI workers Majid Daniyal and Malik Azeem were also detained by police near Adiala Jail, with their arrests made by officers from the Dhamial police station.
