“The martyrdom of our security personnel is a serious issue that demands a transparent investigation,” Opposition leader Omar Ayub stated.
He also accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI’s founder, of being targeted in life-threatening attacks. Ayub claimed that both were directly shot at, and he was struck by a tear gas shell in the neck during recent clashes.
“These targeted attacks on Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi are reprehensible,” Ayub said in a statement. “We were shot at directly, which we strongly condemn. I will pursue legal action against these violent acts.”
These accusations come amid rising political tensions, with PTI leaders accusing the government of using excessive force to quell opposition. Ayub’s comments have further fueled demands for accountability and justice across the political divide.
The government has yet to respond to Ayub’s allegations or the call for an inquiry, as protests and sit-ins continue throughout the country.
