KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy successfully seized a significant consignment of drugs during an anti-narcotics operation in the North Arabian Sea, ARY News reported, citing the ISPR.
According to the ISPR, the operation was conducted by Pakistan Navy Ship PNS MOAWIN, supported by naval air assets. The team intercepted a suspicious boat and discovered narcotics concealed in secret compartments of the vessel.
The seized drugs are estimated to have an international market value of approximately $1 million. The consignment was reportedly being transported via sea routes to international destinations.
The ISPR emphasized that the Pakistan Navy remains vigilant in combating illegal activities within the maritime boundaries of the region.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across the country, recovering over 149 kg of drugs worth over Rs. 40 million and arresting four drug traffickers, according to an ANF Headquarters spokesperson.
Key highlights of the ANF operations include:
- Recovery of 30 heroin-filled capsules from a passenger at Peshawar International Airport en route to Jeddah.
- Seizure of 31 intoxicated tablets from a parcel near a park in Islamabad, leading to an arrest.
- Confiscation of 150 grams of ice from a parcel destined for Australia via a Karachi courier office.
- Discovery of 90 kg opium and 10 kg heroin hidden for smuggling in Chagai district, Balochistan.
- Recovery of 45 kg hashish from an uninhabited area along the coastal line of Pasni, Balochistan.
- Seizure of 3 kg hashish from a suspect in Hyderabad.
- Interception of a motorcyclist near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza in Attock, resulting in the recovery of 1 kg heroin and 500 grams of ice.
The ANF has registered cases against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act, and investigations are ongoing.
