KARACHI: Aamir Ali Baloch, the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways, has expressed serious concern over fraudulent job advertisements circulating on social media, according to ARY News.
The CEO has directed authorities to file cases under the Cybercrime Act against individuals responsible for publishing these fake ads. He stressed that all official recruitment advertisements are exclusively posted on Pakistan Railways’ official website.
Baloch warned that those misleading the public and attempting to extort money through fraudulent job postings will face strict legal action.
Railways Initiative for Passengers with Disabilities
In a separate development, Pakistan Railways launched a significant initiative on December 1 to enhance accessibility for passengers with disabilities.
The program offers a 50% discount on train fares for disabled passengers traveling on all express and passenger trains, excluding the Green Line. Additionally, attendants accompanying visually impaired passengers will also receive discounted fares.
To avail of these discounts, passengers must present their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) specifying disability details.
This initiative is part of Pakistan Railways’ broader commitment to inclusivity, aiming to improve travel experiences for millions of disabled passengers.
Enhanced Accessibility at Stations
Pakistan Railways has also introduced facilities such as wheelchairs, dedicated booking counters, and accessible executive washrooms at key stations, with plans to extend these services to 12 more locations.
Through these measures, Pakistan Railways strives to provide a more comfortable and independent travel experience for people with disabilities across the country.
