Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday, where they committed to further strengthening the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The two leaders shared their dedication to enhancing economic, political, and cultural ties between their nations. PM Shehbaz praised the UAE’s significant contributions to Pakistan’s development and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in areas like renewable energy, technology, infrastructure development, and vocational training.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed interest in collaborating with Pakistan in the mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors, while also recognizing PM Shehbaz’s leadership in stabilizing the country’s economy. The UAE president emphasized that emerging economic opportunities had paved the way for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.

In a separate event, PM Shehbaz recently launched the Uraan Pakistan program, a national economic transformation initiative for 2024-29, during a ceremony in Islamabad. The program’s logo and accompanying book were also unveiled.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the address, PM Shehbaz discussed the challenges faced over the past nine months and praised the collective efforts of the federal and provincial governments, as well as their partners, in achieving macroeconomic stability.
