PM Shehbaz’s Doha visit set to strengthen Pakistan-Qatar relations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that his visit to Qatar would reinforce the strong ties of friendship, respect, and collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar, benefiting both nations.

During a productive meeting in Doha with Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, the two leaders explored ways to enhance bilateral relations, focusing on areas like trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchange.

The Prime Minister acknowledged Qatar’s support in Pakistan’s economic progress and expressed gratitude for its ongoing assistance across various sectors. He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening economic partnerships and highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation. He also expressed appreciation for the large Pakistani community in Qatar, serving as a bridge between the two friendly nations.

The leaders discussed regional and global issues, stressing the importance of peaceful solutions and cooperative approaches to shared challenges.

Shehbaz Sharif commended Qatar’s stance on the Gaza conflict and its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region, lauding Qatar’s humanitarian and diplomatic efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering in Gaza.

The Prime Minister recognized Qatar’s role in advocating dialogue and fostering regional peace, noting its contributions as essential to lasting stability in the Middle East.

The Qatari Prime Minister underscored Pakistan’s strategic importance and expressed enthusiasm for deepening ties with Pakistan in alignment with Qatar’s vision for economic growth and stability in the region. Both leaders agreed on the value of ongoing high-level exchanges to encourage understanding, enhance cooperation, and identify new growth opportunities.

Shehbaz Sharif invited Qatari investors to explore Pakistan’s diverse sectors, including agriculture, IT, and tourism, and assured them of Pakistan’s commitment to providing a favorable environment for foreign investors, mentioning potential incentives for market entry.

He expressed his gratitude to the Amir of Qatar and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani for their warm welcome and hospitality.

Upon arrival at Doha International Airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation were received by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Ali bin Mubarak Al Khater, Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, and HE Dr. Muhammad Ejaz, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
