PTI founder expresses surprise, says ‘everyone seems happy outside’

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, expressed surprise over the apparent satisfaction of party leadership outside, ARY News reported.

Imran Khan’s remarks came amid reports of ongoing discussions between PTI and the PML-N-led coalition government. Addressing journalists at the court, Khan expressed astonishment at the seemingly cordial relations between the government and his party. While he refrained from directly mistrusting the leadership, he voiced his surprise over the positive portrayal of the situation outside.

Earlier, PTI leader and former Speaker of the National Assembly, Assad Qaiser, met with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to discuss initiating formal talks with the government. The two leaders exchanged views on fostering consensus on national issues and de-escalating political tensions. Ayaz Sadiq urged Qaiser, saying, “You convince your party’s hardliners, and I will persuade my people.”

The PTI leadership has also sought permission to meet with Imran Khan in jail for further consultations, Qaiser confirmed.

Meanwhile, the number of cases registered against Imran Khan nationwide has reportedly risen to 188. After being granted bail in the Toshakhana case, he was re-arrested in connection with the New Town PS case and remains confined in Adiala Jail.
