PTI founder seeks bail, release of party leaders and workers

Imran Khan Demands Release of PTI Leaders and Workers

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Salman Akram Raja revealed that Imran Khan has urged the federal government to release detained PTI workers and leaders, as reported by ARY News.

During an appearance on ARY News’ program “Off The Record”, Salman Akram Raja shared that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan recently met Imran Khan. In the meeting, Khan directed Gohar to emphasize forming a judicial commission during the third session of talks with the government committee.

Imran Khan stated that if the government refuses to establish the judicial commission, PTI will abstain from the fourth session of talks. He also stressed that his primary focus remains the release of detained PTI members and maintained that the cases against him are baseless and will be dismissed in court.

Dialogue with NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq
Addressing meetings with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Salman Akram Raja explained that PTI members are engaging with Sadiq as the head of the talks committee. He added that PTI is prepared for the next session of discussions, and the government has been informed of their stance.

In response to criticism from PTI leaders, Ayaz Sadiq clarified that his role as Speaker is to facilitate dialogue between the government and opposition, not to organize meetings for Imran Khan. He expressed disappointment over statements criticizing his office and assured that his doors remain open for all Assembly members.

Sadiq reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining parliamentary supremacy and facilitating discussions. He stated that he is willing to arrange immediate committee meetings if both the government and opposition agree.

Political Talks in Deadlock
The clarification from Ayaz Sadiq comes amid reports of stalled political talks following conflicting statements from both sides after the second round of discussions. Delays in granting PTI leaders permission to visit Adiala Jail for consultations with their party chief have further fueled concerns about the progress of negotiations.
