According to party sources, more than 200 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers were detained by police while marching towards Islamabad on the party’s call.
Prominent figures among the detainees include Zain Qureshi, Amir Doggar, Nadeem Qureshi, Waseem Badozai, Moinuddin Qureshi, and Rana Tufail Noon.
Party members, including lawmakers and leaders, were reportedly apprehended near Qadirpur Raan. The march had begun from outside a local hotel, with leaders leading a convoy toward Islamabad for today’s protest.
These arrests come amid rising political tensions as PTI prepares for nationwide protests under the leadership of its founder, Imran Khan.
Authorities have sealed all entry and exit points of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to tighten security. Overnight, police conducted raids as part of a crackdown, arresting party workers across various areas.
