Punjab Imposes 60km/h Speed Limit for Motorcycles

In a move to curb road accidents caused by speeding, the Punjab government has introduced a province-wide speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour for motorcycles.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced the decision, highlighting the alarming rise in road fatalities. “It is heartbreaking to see lives lost due to speeding,” she said, stressing the importance of the new regulation for public safety.

Bukhari added that strict enforcement measures will be implemented to ensure adherence to the speed limit. “Motorcycles will not be allowed to exceed 60 km/h,” she confirmed.

Alongside efforts to improve road safety, the provincial government is also advancing eco-friendly transportation. Azma Bukhari disclosed that the first batch of 28 electric vehicles is expected to arrive in Lahore within two to three days, signaling a major step toward sustainable transportation in Punjab.
