“Raja Umar Khattab Ousted as CTD Chief in a Shocking Move!”

KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) In-charge, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raja Umar Khattab, has been removed from his position. Similarly, DSP Farukh Younus of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) has also been relieved of his duties. Both officers have been directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO).

Raja Umar Khattab had been serving in the CTD for over 15 years, making his removal a significant development.

Separately, in an ongoing investigation into a short-term kidnapping case involving CTD officials, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has arrested four additional suspects. These individuals, including a CTD official, were allegedly part of a group that abducted a citizen from Karachi’s Manghopir area on December 24. During the kidnapping, the suspects managed to transfer $340,000 from the victim’s cryptocurrency account.

With the latest arrests, eight suspects are now in custody. However, seven individuals, including a CTD official named Ali Raza and a CPEC police officer, remain at large. Police are actively working to apprehend the fugitives.

The arrested suspects include Asher, Muzammil, Rehman, and Omar, a police official. Investigations also revealed that Raja Farooq, a CPEC police officer, played a role in the kidnapping by aiding the perpetrators. Efforts to capture the remaining suspects continue.
