Rangers personnel dies from injuries sustained in violent November 24 protest

ISLAMABAD: Lance Naik Tanveer, a Rangers personnel who was injured in a firing incident during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest on November 24, has succumbed to his injuries, according to ARY News.

The incident took place near the Tarnol Police Station, where the Rangers personnel were reportedly shot by the protesters.

Islamabad Police confirmed the death, noting that Tanveer had been receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for the past three weeks after sustaining bullet injuries.

A case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.

Earlier, PTI founder Imran Khan was named in an FIR over the deaths of three Rangers personnel during a PTI protest in Islamabad on November 26.

The FIR, registered at Ramna Police Station, accuses Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, along with other party leaders, of charges including murder, terrorism, and conspiracy.

The FIR alleges that the plan to attack the Rangers personnel was devised during a meeting at Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan met with party leaders. The attack was reportedly orchestrated by Bushra Bibi and PTI workers, who incited the protesters to target the Rangers personnel.

The FIR also lists PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Salman Akram Raja, Ali Amin Gandapur, Murad Saeed, Zulfi Bukhari, Raoof Hassan, and Hammad Azhar, as conspirators in the attack.

The incident occurred during PTI’s protests in Islamabad, where a car driven by an unidentified individual ran over and killed three Rangers personnel on the spot.
