Report reveals significant damages to KP House in Islamabad

PESHAWAR: A joint report by the Communications and Works Department has revealed extensive losses at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, according to ARY News.

The report detailed that furniture worth Rs 10 lakh, along with digital video recorders, cameras, and laptops valued at Rs 15 lakh, have gone missing. Additionally, Rs 6 lakh in cash, licensed firearms, mobile phones, and other items worth Rs 64 lakh are unaccounted for. Cash totaling over Rs 16 lakh, belonging to MPAs and police personnel, is also missing, along with several important belongings of the Chief Minister.

The estimated cost for renovating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House stands at Rs 96.93 lakh.

It is notable that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) previously sealed multiple blocks of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad following a protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the capital.

The sealing operation, led by Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif, resulted in the closure of Blocks A and B, while Block C was left unsealed as it was housing families. Guest rooms in KP House Islamabad were also sealed for ‘rule violations.’

Subsequently, the CDA complied with Islamabad High Court (IHC) orders to de-seal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.
