Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, announced that a convoy en route to Kurram district has been temporarily halted due to security concerns.
He reassured that the convoy would resume its journey once the route is cleared.
Saif emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in Kurram under the Grand Jirga agreement and warned that anyone attempting to disturb the peace would face strict consequences.
He also addressed a recent attack on the Deputy Commissioner, labeling it a failed attempt to destabilize the region.
“The public is urged to cooperate with the government and authorities to ensure sustained peace in Kurram,” he added.
He clarified that the convoy of trucks traveling from Tal to Kurram had been stopped as a precaution, but the route would soon be cleared to allow the convoy’s safe passage.
This action comes amidst ongoing security measures aimed at strengthening stability in Kurram.
Meanwhile, the 18th day of sit-ins in Kurram’s Parachinar district continues, with the Parachinar-Tal Main Highway still closed to all traffic.
The prolonged closure has caused significant hardships, including a severe shortage of essential goods. Despite the harsh winter conditions, protestors continue to demand the reopening of the highway and assurances of safety, vowing to persist with their demonstration until their demands are fulfilled.
