Security Strategy Greenlit for Upcoming SCO Summit

ISLAMABAD: A detailed security plan for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit was approved during a meeting held on Wednesday, chaired by Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi.

Attendees included the federal secretary of interior, additional secretaries, the chief commissioner, Inspector General (IG) and deputy commissioner of Islamabad, the deputy commandant of the Frontier Corps (FC), the sector commander of Pakistan Rangers, and representatives from various security agencies.

During the meeting, the interior minister emphasized the importance of hosting the SCO summit, noting that several heads of state would be in attendance, which he described as a significant honor for the nation.

He announced that additional personnel from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab Police would be deployed to ensure comprehensive security for the visiting dignitaries.
