Shahrah-e-Faisal Traffic Closure Announced for Karachi
Karachi Traffic Police officials have confirmed that multiple sections of Shahrah-e-Faisal will be closed during specific hours.
A spokesperson for the traffic police shared that both directions of traffic from Drigh Road to Karasaz will be blocked, along with the route from Karasaz to Hassan Square and Habib Ibrahim Rahimtoola Road.
Airport-bound vehicles will be diverted away from Karasaz and Stadium Road, with traffic rerouted from Drigh Road to Rashid Minhas Road and onward via Millennium Mall towards NIPA.
Additionally, traffic from FTC and Nursery areas will not be permitted towards Karasaz or the airport. Vehicles will be redirected to Shaheed-e-Millat Road from the Baloch Colony Bridge area.
The spokesperson further advised that traffic coming from Jail Chowrangi will be directed towards Hassan Square, NIPA, and Rashid Minhas Road, while University Road traffic will be diverted away from Expo Center and Stadium Road. University Road traffic will be rerouted, with alternatives via Jail Chowrangi, Peoples Chowrangi, or Shaheed-e-Millat Road.
IDEAS 2024 Traffic Plan
In related news, the Karachi traffic police have also unveiled a detailed traffic management plan for IDEAS 2024, taking place from November 19 to 22 at the Expo Centre Karachi. To minimize disruptions, several roads around the Expo Centre will be closed from 7 am to 7 pm, including the stretch from Hassan Square Flyover to National Stadium Road and both flyovers on Stadium Road. Dalmia Road from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square will also be closed, along with the left turn from University Road’s Nipa intersection to Expo Centre.
Commercial vehicles will be rerouted, with no access to Stadium Road from Rashid Minhas Road, instead being redirected via Drigh Road. Shaheed Millat Road and Teen Hatti Road will be alternatives for commercial vehicles.
Diversion points have been established at PP Chowrangi to Shaheed Millat Road and Liqatabad No. 10 to Teen Hatti to ensure smooth traffic flow. Authorized participants and organizers of IDEAS 2024 will be exempt from these restrictions.
Citizens are urged to cooperate with traffic authorities to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during these events.
