TikToker apprehended for using a fake number plate as police intensify crackdown on social media activities.

LAHORE: Lahore police have arrested popular TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, known as Nadeem Nani Wala, for attaching a counterfeit number plate reading “IK 804” to his vehicle, authorities confirmed on Monday.

According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Defence Police Station, Nadeem was taken into custody during a routine check near Main Boulevard Defence when officers discovered the fake plate on his car, prompting his immediate arrest.

The police impounded the vehicle and filed a case against the TikToker for the illegal use of a forged number plate. The car, marked as “804,” was confiscated, and an official complaint was lodged.

In a related development, SP Headquarters Ahmad Zunair Cheema issued a directive prohibiting police officers from creating or sharing TikTok content while in uniform. The circular, released on Monday, stated that any officer, regardless of gender, found engaging in TikTok activities while on duty would face serious disciplinary actions.

Additionally, the directive mandated officers to delete any existing TikTok accounts or videos to protect the police department’s image. SP Cheema highlighted the need to maintain professionalism, asserting, “The integrity of the force must be upheld, and officers are expected to demonstrate this in all aspects of their duties.”

This crackdown on social media activities comes amid increasing concerns about the potential harm to the police department’s reputation due to content produced by officers in uniform.

In an unrelated incident linked to TikTok, a young man named Ahmed was tragically shot in the eye while standing outside his home in Liaquatabad on September 12.
