ATTOCK: The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) faced a significant political blow as two of its prominent leaders joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Wednesday, according to ARY News.
The leaders, who were ticket holders for TLP, formally announced their decision to leave the party after meeting PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This shift is expected to impact TLP’s influence in two key provincial constituencies of NA-50 Attock-II.
Malik Amanat (PP-4) and Syed Atif Shah (PP-5), along with their colleagues, officially parted ways with TLP and joined PPP. During the announcement, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari warmly welcomed the new members into his party. Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Hayat Khan was also present at the occasion.
This move comes after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recent rejection of a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, citing concerns about the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) handling of administrative matters in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Despite an earlier agreement to collaborate, PPP has raised grievances over being sidelined in provincial governance by PML-N.
