Terrorists attacked a police post in Shangla district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), resulting in the martyrdom of two police officers and injuries to four others, according to Express News.
The attack targeted the Gnanagar Police Post in the Chakisar area of Shangla. Police officials confirmed that SHO Muhammad Hassan Khan and Constable Nisar Khan were martyred, while among the injured were Constable Mirza Arshad Iqbal, Constable Arshad Gnanagar, and two other officers. One of the injured constables is reported to be from the Mera area.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack by Khawarij terrorists and paid tribute to the martyred officers. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, he extended condolences to the families of ASI Hassan Khan and Head Constable Nisar Khan, honoring their sacrifice.
“The martyrs are our pride, and we stand firmly with their families,” Naqvi stated, adding, “The brave officers of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police have always been on the frontline in the fight against terrorism. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, and we salute their courage.”
He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured officers and acknowledged the sacrifices of the K-P Police in maintaining peace and security.
In related developments, security forces have neutralized 43 terrorists in recent intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in K-P and Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR reported that:
- 18 terrorists were killed in K-P operations.
- 25 terrorists were eliminated in operations in Balochistan, particularly in Musakhel and Panjgur districts.
The military emphasized that these operations have dealt a significant blow to Fitna-Al-Khwarij and other terrorist groups operating in the region. In Lakki Marwat district of K-P alone, six terrorists were neutralized, while 10 others were killed in overnight operations in Balochistan.
These operations mark a major success in the ongoing fight against terrorism since December 9, reinforcing security forces’ commitment to eliminating threats across the country.
