QUETTA – Two policemen were martyred, and another sustained injuries in a terrorist attack on a checkpost in Shahban, as reported by Dunya News on Thursday.
The martyred officers were identified as Head Constable Shams-ul-Islam and Constable Ramzan, while the injured policeman, Asif Raza, was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
According to police, militants launched an attack on the checkpost, prompting retaliation from law enforcement. In the exchange of fire, two officers lost their lives, while the attackers managed to flee the scene.
Following the incident, police cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to track down the assailants.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and extended condolences to the families of the martyred officers. He praised the sacrifices of law enforcement personnel in safeguarding the nation and reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating militancy.
