KARAK – Two policemen were martyred, and six others were injured when terrorists opened fire on their checkpost, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
The martyred officers were identified as Adnan and Nakeeb. According to the District Police Officer (DPO), militants armed with advanced weapons attacked the checkpost and fled after police returned fire.
The injured officers were initially taken to the district headquarters hospital, with two of them being referred to Peshawar due to their critical condition.
The DPO confirmed that a search operation was underway to apprehend the militants responsible for the attack.
In response to the attack, police have increased security measures and stepped up patrolling in the area to maintain law and order, with a focus on arresting the perpetrators as soon as possible.
