Stallions 271/7 (Babar 104*, Yasir 46, Shakeel 1-14) defeated Dolphins 97 (Farhan 32, Mumtaz 3-14, Jahandad 3-18) by 174 runs.
Babar Azam’s unbeaten 104 from 100 balls, along with Jahandad Khan’s three early wickets, led the Stallions to a commanding 174-run victory over the Dolphins in Faisalabad. This marked Dolphins’ third consecutive loss in the tournament, where teams batting first have won all seven matches so far.
After choosing to bat, Stallions got off to a solid start with Shan Masood and Yasir Khan putting together a 76-run opening stand in 13 overs. Dolphins’ Faheem Ashraf broke the partnership by dismissing Masood, slowing the run rate. Yasir followed soon after, but Babar anchored the innings superbly. He partnered with Tayyab Tahir for a 57-run stand, taking Stallions to 150 by the 30th over.
Despite Dolphins using six different bowlers who each claimed a wicket, Babar held firm. At the 40-over mark, he was on 50 from 65 deliveries but accelerated in the final 10 overs, smashing 54 off 35 balls with three fours and three sixes, guiding Stallions to 271/7.
Dolphins’ chase crumbled quickly as Jahandad struck early, removing Muhammad Hurraira for a duck with the second ball. He then trapped Umar Amin lbw in his third over, leaving Dolphins at 15/2.
Sahibzada Farhan and Saud Shakeel briefly countered with five boundaries, but Jahandad returned to clean up Shakeel. Haris Rauf soon followed up by dismissing Sarfaraz Ahmed and Qasim Akram within three balls, leaving Dolphins in deep trouble at 60/5.
The lower middle order collapsed against spinners Abrar Ahmed and Mehran Mumtaz, who combined to take five wickets, as Dolphins were bowled out for just 97.
