Mir Hamza Takes Naseem Shah’s Place in Cape Town Test Against South Africa

Mir Hamza Replaces Naseem Shah for Cape Town Test Against South Africa

Pakistan has announced left-arm pacer Mir Hamza as a replacement for right-arm fast bowler Naseem Shah in the second Test of the series against South Africa, set to begin today in Cape Town.

The playing XI for Pakistan features captain Shan Masood, Saeem Ayub, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Rizwan, alongside Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shehzad, and Mohammad Abbas.

This match presents a crucial opportunity for Pakistan as they aim for a strong comeback after narrowly losing the first Test.

In the previous match at Centurion on December 29, South African pacers Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen showcased their batting skills, securing a thrilling two-wicket win. Their unbeaten 51-run partnership off 50 balls denied Pakistan a dramatic victory, despite Mohammad Abbas claiming six wickets in an exceptional bowling performance.

The first Test’s nail-biting finish highlighted Pakistan’s strong showing, as they sought to end an 18-year drought of Test wins in South Africa. All eyes are now on the second Test, where Pakistan aims to turn the series in their favor.
