Mohammad Hafeez criticizes PCB for agreeing to the hybrid model for Champions Trophy

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday for agreeing to the hybrid model for the upcoming Champions Trophy, scheduled for next February.

In an exclusive interview with Samaa TV, Hafeez expressed his concerns, saying, “The dressing rooms are unavailable during first-class matches, and the facilities for players, including water and washrooms, are subpar.”

He added, “There was an emphasis on making the Champions Trophy a success, but no one is focusing on improving first-class cricket.”

Hafeez continued, “Players are being sent to the strike-force camp straight from first-class matches. This camp should have been scheduled during the off-season.”

He urged the PCB to prioritize its focus on improving domestic cricket.

On the topic of Saim Ayub, Hafeez expressed hope, saying, “I hope Saim Ayub won’t be ruled out of the Champions Trophy and will continue to represent Pakistan for the next 15 years.”
