Android 15 introduces new ‘theft protection’ features to boost security.

In its latest Android 15 update, Google has introduced advanced Theft Protection features aimed at improving user privacy and security.

This update, now available on Google Pixel smartphones, includes key features such as theft detection lock, remote lock, and the ability to remotely erase device data.

Previously, users had to navigate through the All Services menu within Google Services settings to access these security tools. However, with the new update, Theft Protection settings can now be easily found under the “Security and Privacy” section in the Settings app. To enable these features, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings menu.
  2. Select “Security and privacy” and tap on “Device Unlock.”
  3. Choose the new “Theft Protection” option.
  4. Activate toggles for theft detection lock, offline device lock, remote lock, and Find My Device.

The Theft Detection Lock automatically locks your device if it detects an unauthorized attempt to take it, while the Offline Device Lock ensures the screen locks immediately when the device goes offline.

The Remote Lock feature allows users to lock a stolen device using just their phone number through android.com/lock. Additionally, if Find My Device is enabled, users can remotely erase data to protect sensitive information.
