As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into daily life, companies are pushing to innovate and develop new AI models that enhance user experience and support netizens.
Joining this AI race, global tech leader Google is reportedly developing an AI tool capable of managing computer tasks through a web browser, according to a report by The Verge, which references information from The Information.
Codenamed “Project Jarvis,” the model will operate specifically within Chrome and allow AI to take control of a web browser to complete tasks such as online research and shopping. This AI tool will function by interpreting screenshots, clicking buttons, and entering text, enabling users to automate routine web-based tasks.
The report notes that Google’s plan to launch Project Jarvis by December is tentative. The company is considering a limited release to select testers to refine the product and resolve potential issues.
This development parallels efforts from OpenAI, supported by Microsoft, which aims to enable its models to perform research autonomously with the help of a “CUA” or computer-using agent that can act on its findings. Similarly, Microsoft’s Copilot Vision will engage users in conversations about their web activity.
As the competition for AI dominance intensifies, Apple’s future AI is expected to be capable of recognizing screen content and handling tasks across multiple platforms.
