Japan Airlines Struck by Cyber Attack, Causing Flight Delays

Japan Airlines (JAL) has confirmed a cyber attack that led to delays in both domestic and international flights.

The airline reported disruptions in its systems, particularly those communicating with external networks, starting around 7:30 AM local time (23:30 GMT, Wednesday). In response, JAL isolated a malfunctioning router by 9 AM and is currently assessing the situation to restore full service.

JAL stated that delays were affecting flights, both domestic and international, and ticket sales for Thursday’s services have been temporarily suspended. Over a dozen flights were delayed at various airports across Japan, but there were no major cancellations, according to NHK.
