Set for a 2025 release, the iPhone 17 series is expected to introduce significant design changes. A recent leak has revealed key updates, including a shift in materials for the Pro models.
According to Forbes, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will transition from titanium and stainless steel frames to aluminium frames. This marks a notable departure from the materials used in previous models.
The Pro models will also feature a redesigned back with a part-aluminium, part-glass finish. The upper half will include a larger, rectangular aluminium camera bump, replacing the current 3D glass design. The lower half will retain glass to enable wireless charging compatibility.
While the exact shape of the camera module remains uncertain, the switch to aluminium for the camera bump signals a major aesthetic and functional update. Apple’s challenge will be maintaining its signature seamless design while combining two distinct materials.
