Maximize Your Earnings with Facebook’s New Content Monetization Beta Program

Today, we are launching the Facebook Content Monetization beta, a new program designed to enhance earning opportunities for creators across a wider range of content formats.

The Facebook Content Monetization program combines our three existing Facebook-funded monetization initiatives—In-stream Ads, Ads on Reels, and the Performance Bonus—into a single program that enables creators to monetize Reels, longer videos, photos, and text posts.

Creators Have Been Earning on Facebook for Years
Since we introduced Facebook-funded monetization in 2017, over four million content creators have generated income on the platform. As we’ve expanded from solely supporting longer videos to also include Reels and posts, overall payouts have increased. In the past year alone, Facebook has paid creators more than $2 billion for videos, Reels, photos, and text posts, with payouts for Reels and short videos growing by more than 80%.

Now It’s Simpler to Earn from More Content Types
While we’re proud of the success our monetization programs have brought to creators, we recognize that the varying availability, eligibility criteria, and sign-up processes have caused some creators to miss out on opportunities, while others may not qualify for all content formats. The data reflects this—currently, only about one-third of monetizing creators on Facebook earn from more than one Facebook-funded program.

With the Facebook Content Monetization beta, creators will need to enroll in just one monetization program. This will allow them to monetize multiple content formats and track their performance with a unified set of insights, making it easier than ever to generate income from a variety of available formats.

Our Payout Model Remains Unchanged
Facebook Content Monetization operates under the same performance-based payout model that drives Ads on Reels, In-stream Ads, and the Performance Bonus. Your earnings in Facebook Content Monetization will continue to be linked to how your eligible content performs. If you have found success with Ads on Reels, that success will carry over to Content Monetization, allowing you to earn from eligible longer videos, photos, and text posts as well.

Who’s Eligible for the Content Monetization Beta?
This week, we are beginning to invite one million creators who are already monetizing on Facebook to join the beta, with more invitations being sent in the coming months. Invited creators can sign up through the monetization tab in the Professional dashboard on mobile or the Meta Business Suite on desktop.

While open enrollment won’t begin until 2025, we are giving creators the chance to express their interest in receiving an invitation for early access to the beta. To learn more about Content Monetization and to indicate your interest, visit Facebook for Creators.
