Nintendo teases exciting new features for its highly anticipated Switch 2 gaming console in a recent job listing.
The Kyoto-based company is seeking an electro-mechanical engineer with expertise in “high-speed signaling and power delivery on PCB designs” involving elements like PCIE, DDR4, MIPI, and SD/SD Express, according to a gaming website. This hints at potential upgrades, including support for Samsung’s SD Express microSD cards, which could significantly expand the console’s storage.
Reports suggest the new SD cards may enable the Switch 2 to achieve speeds up to 800MB per second, a massive leap from the current 60MB speed limit on Nintendo’s fastest models.
In addition to this, a recent leak revealed a glimpse of the redesigned Joy-Con controllers for the Switch 2, which seem to feature a new back trigger. Previous rumors have also suggested the inclusion of magnetic Joy-Con controllers.
