Oracle executives, the primary cloud computing provider for TikTok’s US operations, have instructed some employees to prepare for the shutdown of servers hosting US TikTok data by 9 pm ET on Saturday (0200 GMT on Sunday), as reported by The Information. This move comes ahead of a US law set to take effect on Sunday, which mandates that the app sever ties with its China-based parent company, ByteDance, or shut down its US operations to address national security concerns. The law, passed last year and upheld by a unanimous Supreme Court ruling on Friday, gives TikTok until Sunday to comply.
