Reports: Apple’s iPhone 17 Models to Feature 120Hz Display

Apple’s iPhone 17 Models Expected to Feature 120Hz Display: Reports

Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 series is set to receive a significant upgrade in display technology.

According to recent reports, both the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air (likely replacing the Plus variant) will feature a 120Hz refresh rate. Currently, Apple offers 60Hz displays for its standard models and 120Hz refresh rates for the Pro versions. However, the exact specifications for the iPhone 17’s refresh rate remain unclear.

Will the iPhone 17 Include ProMotion Technology?

Given that the Pro models currently utilize ProMotion technology, there is speculation that Apple may extend this feature to the iPhone 17 as well.

This upgrade would enhance the user experience by providing smoother performance and always-on display functionality. The iPhone 17 may also require LTPO panels, meaning the standard models could share display features with the Pro versions.

Analyst Ross Young has previously predicted that both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air would incorporate ProMotion displays.

However, Apple has not yet confirmed any details, and we will likely learn more about the features of the iPhone 17 series when it is officially unveiled. The expected release date for the iPhone 17 series is September 2025.
