This feature, introduced in the latest WhatsApp beta update for iOS version 24.25.10.79, moves the shortcut from its previous position at the top of the navigation bar to the Chats tab, as reported by WABetaInfo. This change is aimed at increasing visibility, particularly on larger screens where navigating to the top can be difficult.
The update encourages users to explore WhatsApp’s AI-powered tools, including generating personalized images and content, by providing easier access to Meta AI.
For Android users, the shortcut is designed as a floating action button, which may be tested as a temporary feature subject to further adjustments based on user feedback.
Currently, the shortcut is available to select beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS via TestFlight, with plans for a wider release in the coming weeks.
