In related news, on November 27, 2024, a group of students from the University of Karachi developed the world’s smallest rechargeable nebulizer. This portable device is designed to offer convenience for patients with respiratory conditions, particularly in light of rising pollution levels and an increase in asthma, chest infections, and lung diseases.

The team behind this innovation, including Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Taha Ishaq, Syed Wali Uddin, Syeda Arshiya, Zohaib Salman, Maham Zaidi, Priyan Khan, and Tuba Saleem, created a compact nebulizer small enough to fit in a bag, making it ideal for use during travel or at the office.

The rechargeable device can operate continuously for 35 minutes and remains functional for up to two days once fully charged. Its portable design allows individuals with respiratory conditions to manage their health effectively without being confined to large, stationary nebulizers.

This innovation marks a significant advancement in medical technology and showcases the potential of young Pakistani innovators in addressing critical healthcare challenges.
