Pakistan Unveils Its First Indigenously Manufactured Ventilator

KARACHI: In a significant stride toward technological independence, Pakistan has launched its first locally manufactured ventilator. The unveiling was led by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, according to ARY News.

Developed by a private company, this groundbreaking achievement marks a key milestone under the ‘Uraan Pakistan’ initiative, which aims to promote innovation and homegrown technology.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Iqbal lauded the company as a “champion of Uraan Pakistan” and emphasized the need for similar innovations to help Pakistan thrive in the global arena. He called on the nation to cultivate a new generation of hardworking, ambitious, and intelligent individuals to drive progress.

Iqbal also addressed the negative perceptions surrounding Pakistan, highlighting the country’s potential despite external efforts to tarnish its global image. As Pakistan moves closer to its centennial independence in 2047, he urged collective efforts to reshape the nation’s future.

The minister underscored the importance of innovation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and emerging technologies. He expressed confidence that Pakistan could surpass regional competitors in technological advancements over the next two decades, despite its smaller population.

To achieve sustainable growth, Iqbal emphasized the need for policy consistency and long-term reforms, drawing inspiration from countries like Japan and South Korea. He set ambitious targets to increase exports from $30 billion to $100 billion within the next 8-9 years, urging the private sector to play a leading role, especially in agriculture and industry.

Concluding his remarks, Iqbal stressed that Pakistan’s economic future lies in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and an export-driven economy. He encouraged young people to embrace technology to position Pakistan as a global competitor.
