Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman provided reassurances regarding King Salman’s health during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, according to state media. On Sunday, the royal court announced that the 88-year-old monarch would undergo medical tests for a lung inflammation.
“The crown prince reassured everyone about the health of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (the king), praying to God for his swift recovery and continued good health,” the state news agency (SPA) posted on X.
King Salman was previously hospitalized in May 2022 for a colonoscopy, remaining for just over a week for additional tests and rest, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency. Earlier that year, in March 2022, he was admitted for “successful medical tests” and to replace his pacemaker battery. In 2020, he underwent surgery to remove his gall bladder.
