Priyanka Bishnoi, a 33-year-old RAS officer from the 2016 batch, tragically passed away after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Jodhpur. Her family has accused the medical team of negligence, alleging that she was given an “excessive dose of anesthesia.”
Bishnoi, who was serving as a sub-divisional magistrate, had been admitted to Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur earlier this month. According to her family, she fell into a coma following the surgery and was later transferred to a hospital in Ahmedabad, where she ultimately passed away. This incident has sparked outrage among the Bishnoi community.
The family has reiterated their claims, stating that Priyanka received an overdose of anesthesia and that the surgery was “botched,” as reported by NDTV. In response, Jodhpur District Collector Gaurav Agrawal has initiated an inquiry into her death.
Bishnoi community leader Devendra Budia has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his condolences, saying, “I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to the departed soul and give the family the strength to endure this loss.”
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also mourned her untimely death, stating, “The sudden demise of RAS officer Priyanka Bishnoi is deeply saddening. I pray for peace for her soul and strength for her family.”
