Billionaire Elon Musk has pledged to give away $1 million every day until the November election to anyone who signs his online petition, with the first prize awarded at a rally supporting Republican Donald Trump.
During his America PAC event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Musk presented a $1 million check to an attendee named John Dreher, as part of efforts to rally support for Trump’s presidential campaign.
This latest initiative highlights Musk’s willingness to leverage his immense wealth to sway the closely contested race between Trump and his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Musk established America PAC, a political action committee aimed at supporting Trump’s bid for re-election. To date, he has contributed nearly $75 million to this organization and has promised $47 to residents in swing states for each registered voter who signs his petition.
In recent campaign events, Trump has praised Musk, appointing him to lead a committee focused on reducing government bureaucracy and waste should the Republican nominee win the election.
Musk’s America PAC is taking the lead on grassroots efforts to boost voter turnout in Pennsylvania and other pivotal swing states that will influence the election outcome. However, according to Rolling Stone, some Republicans have expressed concerns about the organization’s effectiveness, citing a limited ground presence despite its substantial financial backing.
